Full definition
A property donation is a notarial deed by which a person freely transfers property ownership to another during their lifetime. In Belgium, it is subject to regional donation taxes, generally lower than inheritance taxes. In Flanders: 3% in direct line (9% between others). In Wallonia: 3.3% to 5.5% in direct line. In Brussels: 3% to 7.7% in direct line. Donation with usufruct reservation allows the donor to continue living in the property or collecting rent.
