Classification of a building from A++ to G based on energy consumption per square meter.
Full definition
The energy class is the label assigned to a building on the EPC certificate, ranging from A++ (consumption below 0 kWh/m²/year, passive or positive-energy building) to G (consumption above 510 kWh/m²/year). In Belgium, the average class of the property stock is D-E. The class directly influences selling price. Regions impose progressive obligations: in Flanders, minimum label C by 2030.
