Energy audit vs EPC certificate: what's the difference?

The EPC is an official diagnosis that assigns a label (A to G). The energy audit is a deep analysis with a detailed renovation plan. The audit studies heat losses post by post, simulates scenarios and computes the ROI.

Energy audit price in Belgium 2026

• Detached house: €700 to €1,500
• Apartment: €500 to €900

The home audit subsidy in Wallonia: €660

In Wallonia, the energy audit is mandatory to access the Primes Habitation 2025-2026. The Walloon Region reimburses €660 via a flat premium, regardless of income. The audit must be performed by an SPW-certified auditor.
