Written valuation of your property by a property valuer
For an inheritance, a gift, a division of assets or a divorce, the value of your property often has to be justified in writing. A property valuer visits the property and gives you a signed report. Leave your request: one valuer from your area calls you.
Request a written valuation
It takes two minutes. The request is free and commits you to nothing.
How it works
- You fill in this form and confirm your request with the code you receive by text message.
- One property valuer from your area calls you, tells you the fee and arranges a visit with you.
- The valuer visits the property in its actual condition, land included, and gives you a signed written valuation.
What is a written valuation for?
A written valuation gives the value of your property on a given date, with the reasons behind the figure. It is mostly needed in three cases.
- An inheritance: the heirs declare the value of the property they receive, and inheritance tax is calculated on that value.
- A gift: gift tax is also calculated on the value of the property given.
- A division of assets or a divorce: everyone must be able to rely on the same value to share fairly.
In Flanders, for an inheritance or a gift, the Flemish tax authority (VLABEL) must follow the valuation of a valuer it has approved.
The online estimate is still useful to know the order of magnitude before calling a valuer. It is calculated from real sales in your municipality, without a visit. Get a free online estimate
How much does a written valuation cost?
There is no official fee scale: each valuer sets their own price, depending on the property and the type of valuation. Ask the valuer for their price before the visit.
